The GMD Master allowed me to seek answers to multiple questions and challenged me to engage with the complexity of migration and diversity in new ways.

I have enjoyed learning from all of our engaging professors and gaining a deeper theoretical and multifaceted understanding of the issues within the field.

I’m Tara Knegt and I completed the GMD Master in 2018. I chose to enrol in the Sociology track for the GMD master, since I’m very interested in sociological issues.

I wanted to study something that would have a social impact and with which I would be able to expand my horizon.

Due to its multidisciplinary approach, this Master’s programme enables students to gain a better understanding of migration and diversity.

When I first came across the Governance of Migration and Diversity programme I became excited by the fact that it was a one of a kind.

There is so much more to achieve than just a diploma when studying this programme. Studying Governance of Migration and Diversity at the Erasmus University Rotterdam (EUR), Leiden University, ISS and TU-Delft has widened my perspective.

The GMD programme was particularly interesting for me as it is an intersectional programme. Studying at several institutions helped me to understand migration from multiple perspectives.

What appealed me about the GMD program was that it approached the issue of Migration and Diversity from different perspectives.

My interest in migration and diversity started early on. I was born in Belgrade, still in ex-Yugoslavia, and my parents moved to Slovenia while I was still a young child.
