Visiting Researcher at the Institute of Social Studies (ISS) of Erasmus University Rotterdam & Postdoctoral Researcher, ULB Ayhan Işık is a postdoctoral researcher at Centre de Recherche Mondes Modernes et Contemporains, Université libre de Bruxelles and he is a visiting researcher at the Institute of Social Studies (ISS) of Erasmus University Rotterdam. He defended his PhD in the Department of History and Art History at Utrecht University focusing on Turkish Paramilitarism and violence of perpetrators in the 1990s. His research focuses mainly on political violence, mass violence and paramilitaries, forced migration, civil wars and conflict studies, Kurdish studies, oral history, the modern history of Turkey, Kurdish-Armenian Relations in the Late Ottoman period and Middle East Politics.
