GMD Student Board

The student board functions as the intermediary between GMD students and staff in a sounding capacity as well as a platform to organize events and outreach activities in close interaction with the LDE centre GMD.

Who are we?

Meet the GMD Student Board 24-25. We are a group of motivated students from various backgrounds, creating an international basis representing our programme's students. We aim to bridge the students' interests to the GMD Board and enable sustainable communication that fosters the quality of this programme. By organising social and academic opportunities to develop and network, we want to create a GMD community among the students and encourage long-lasting, valuable contacts.

Emilia: I am Emilia, a 23-year-old law student from Germany, and I am passionate about becoming a lawyer in migration law after finishing my studies. In the student board, I look forward to working with the other students to create a strong student community in the GMD programme. Outside of the board you will find me either crocheting or reading a book.

Maud: Hello, my name is Maud Stragier, and I am a 23-year-old Belgian national. I am now in my second year of this Master in the PA track. I joined the GMD student board because I thought it would be a good way to invest myself more fully into this Master, and with more time and experience to give to the students! You can find me on the volleyball court or enjoying a ray of sunshine in the park or on a terrace during my free time.

Tommaso: Hi! My name is Tommaso Ciocca; I am 22 years old and from Italy. After completing my bachelor's in International Justice at Leiden, I chose the GMD law track as I am very interested and passionate about the migration aspect of EU law!  On the student board, I am sharing the role of social media coordinator and treasurer. I enjoy going on walks in the park near my house in The Hague and love sharing a beer with friends at a bar.

I love singing, dancing and expressing myself creatively, which is why I decided to take up the role of social media coordinator.
