As many education programs, faced with the COVID19 crisis, our LDE master GMD has moved to online teaching. This has not been the spring we had hoped for our GMD Master, as we had planned many more in-class discussions and live interaction in Master thesis circles with our students. It was a steep learning curve, with some of our scheduled lectures being moved online less than 24 hours after the announced lockdown and closure of the university.
In the past 2 months we have been experimenting with many platforms and formats of teaching and assessing our students, including zoom meetings, chatrooms and takehome exams. While we still miss meeting our students in person, we also can pride ourselves now that our Master not only offers world-class education on wicked governance issues relating to migration and diversity, but that is also is “Corona proof”.
