On 1 and 2 July the European International Migration, Integration and Social Cohesion (IMISCOE) hosted a first online conference. The IMISCOE is Europe’s largest interdisciplinary research network of scholars in the field of migration, integration and diversity studies. At the moment, the network involves 55 member institutes and over 1000 scholars from all over Europe and is coordinated by our scientific director and professor of Migration and Diversity Policy Peter Scholten.
With more than 800 participants worldwide, the online conference was a great success. By organising different panels, participants got the opportunity to present their current research and engage in fruitful discussions. The great social programme including theatre performances, a cooking, dance and yoga workshop also offered some breaks in-between. The high number of participants and their engagement throughout the conference demonstrates the commitment of the scholarly community and offers new ideas for activities in research, publications, training and events facilitated by IMISCOE.
